Lectura offers programs for children ages 3 to 6. The classrooms are comprised of mixed groups following the Montessori philosophy.

Our curriculum program includes these components:

Practical Life/Everyday Living Program

Goal:  To help children care for themselves and their environment.

Sensorial Program

Goal:  To refine sensory experiences and their ability to observe, compare, discriminate (visually, auditorily, tactilely, gustatorily, and olfactorily), reason, decide and problem solve.

Language Program

Goal:  To develop reading and writing readiness that lead to reading and writing in English and Spanish ( auditory, visual, and motor preparation, whole language and phonics.

Math Program

Goal:  To develop exactness, concreteness, logic, reasoning, problem solving and decision making.  Children progress from an concrete to an abstract understanding of quantity and symbols.

Science Program

Goal:  To develop active scientific investigation, experimentation and discovery.        

Social Studies/Geography Program

Goal:  To learn about the physical and cultural world and to appreciate its diversity.

Art Program

Goal:  To develop visual creativity of children through exploration of various art and craft media.          

Music and Movement Program

Goal:  To distinguish rhythm, pitch, timbre, intensity, form, cultural origination of music and fine and gross motor skills.

To enroll into Lectura, the following documents/information must be submitted:

1. Signed Enrollment Application

2. A copy of child's birth certificate

3. Medical form completed by physician

4. Student Emergency Form

5. Signed Photo Release form

6. Parent Handbook Agreement form

7. Parent Commitment form

8. Child Permission Form.

9. Peace Education/Discipline form

10. Any applicable fees
